June 23rd, 2009 brendan

SnatchSnatch – heavy single; 85% of that x 1 x 3
Clean & jerk – heavy single; 85% of that 1 x 3

Unlimited: Weighted sit-ups – 3 x 10
3/week: 3:00 row for meters OR Thruster challenge

You’re going to need to build up to your heavy singles at a moderate to fast pace to finish this workout within the hour.

7 days left to register a score for the thruster challenge. (yeah, I said that yesterday…. but this time for real!) Maybe we will do burpees throughout July in honour of all those who choose not to put up a thruster challenge score :)

I’m confused about this work out, are you asking for a 3 rep max? Or are we doing 85% of our one rep max once, three times?

When we’re doing weighted sit ups, are we hooking our feet under anything or not? What weight is recommended for holding?

    @Will

Work up to your one rep max and then take 85% of that for 3 singles

Weighted sit ups, make it heavy. You can anchor your feet but keep those hips down! :)

Snatch = 85p 1RM (need to work on technique)
C&J = 135 (again, need to work on jerk technique)
    Thruster challenge = 24
    Weighted situps 30/35/40# DB

To B – your name is not on that Thruster board yet, hmmmmm

I think it’s about time I post comments…I read them 20 times a day so I might as well jump in! haha

Snatch – 65#, wish I could have done more but too painful on the shoulder injury…
C&J and weighted situps – didn’t do, will do tonight instead

Was a little nervous about the “Thruster Challenge” but gave it a whirl and did 36 reps at 65#.
Want to try it again next week maybe…are we allowed B? T?

PS. Good job on your Thrusters Shawnee!

    Snatch:
    135-140
    85% of 140 = 120ish x6
    Clean/Jerk:
    115-135-155-165F
    85% of 155 = 135ish x4

Used a 45lb plate on my chest and the GH extender thingy for the sit ups.

Heavy Snatch 175#: disappointed with that, I have done 185# but did not have the form today
Heavy Clean and Jerk 240# (PB), tried 245# 3 times, clean is no problem but I need to work on the jerk
Never had time to get to the sit ups.

Snatch – went up to 70# on split snatch
Clean & Jerk – hit a pr at 110#, felt easy, but failed multiple times on jerk at 115#

Just realized that this was 4th training day in a row.
