This just in…
Primal French Toast! (For the modern caveman, I’m sure grok didn’t eat such delicacies, but he also wasn’t living amongst the grain-eating masses)
The recipe comes from the Grain Free Foodies blog,

A few notes…my loaf was a little overcooked so keep an eye on it and/or shorten the cooking time, I used lemon juice, just a touch less honey and smooth almond butter from superstore (cheapest, but organic would probably be better). For the french toast I used one egg for two half inch slices, I also added a splash of vanilla and some cinammon to the mix. Next time I’d make the slices thinner though to get more egg and less bread. No fancy toppings, just some butter. And keep in mind this is calorie dense, so if you’re doing calories-in calories-out, beware!
I’m in fancy breakfast heaven right now

I think that I may have had the advantage in the WOD as I had the opportunity to do it with a great group…..an incredibly FAST group!! loved it!!!!

Rx’d at 18:39.
I used to think running was one of my stronger points. Not while running with (behind) Robin and Scott! Kristin is right, the group atmosphere really made for an advantage.

@maxine
So happy I can help you make the transition to no grain!
I used the bread to make toast this morning and it’s fantastic! I’m thinking that next time I’ll add some seeds to make it more “whole grain” (hehe) and perhaps whatever they put in pumpernickel to make it taste like pumpernickel
I am going to do some research though to see if cooking and re-heating the almonds does anything significant to the nutrition…there’s no point in making all this great food if we’re not benefitting from it :S
