This one takes a lot of mental strength.

  • OUCH!!! I should not have looked to see what the wod was today, it’s going to take everything in me not to make this a rest day. hope to see you tonight

  • bring your ipods !

  • Thanks to everyone who came in this morning. I was afraid I’d be alone all morning, but we had a steady flow of mentally strong and eager-to-get-fit crossfitters. Super impressed with the efforts laid out today. Hope to hear of some more heroic efforts tonight!

    “This too shall pass”!!!!

  • I’m looking forward to a nice long row…does that make me a freak??

  • so im doing physio at elite fitness and they had me do the “group” workout today. guess what it was? shoulders. yeah, they still do that, shoulder day. that being said it was good for me cause i have some serious shoulder weakness, but still. oh, and one of the exercises in the “circuit” was 5 mins of crunches. yup. hah, and i started with my feet on the ground, and the trainer said something like, “hey, get your feet in the air, this isnt crossfit.” what does that even mean? im doing fucking crunches. to be fair, they create some good linebackers at that establishment.

anyway, 5k row is gonna be fun on those spent shoulders. good thing my legs did nothing this morning. at all. also, i seem to be able to pre-empt these row workouts. as with the 500m a while ago, i did this yesterday, but at a really easy pace. something like 23-24 mins, didnt try for time. going harder today. have fun guys

  • @Kimberly
Yes Kim, it does!! Glad it is my rest day!

  • Just treat it like a chipper guys, 500m at a time. It’s not that bad. Chippers are great for our mental ‘toughness’.

Like B said: “This too shall pass”!!!!

  • There’s also a seat sale on Air Canada if you book by Jan 7

  • Some good quotes below featured on the Fitness Spotlight article today, here is the link if you want to read the entire article:

I think it fits well with what we’re trying to achieve here, and especially at the beginning of a calendar year when people get excited about making positive changes in their lives…But getting excited is only the initiator – now you must make time to shop/cook/eat well and to exercise (Crossfit!) regularly. The article especially fits with the upcoming “Real Food Challenge”….take the time to take care of yourself.

“It’s not enough to be busy, so are the ants. The question is, what are we busy about?” ~ Henry David Thoreau

“In truth, people can generally make time for what they choose to do; it is not really the time but the will that is lacking.” ~ Sir John Lubbock

“You will never “find” time for anything. If you want time, you must make it.” ~ Charles Bruxton

“Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein.” ~ H. Jackson Brown
