We have been focusing so hard on the solids, but what about the liquids? The body is made up of 60-70% water, are you drinking enough?

Yes…you need to stay hydrated! I’ve read countless articles on what dehydration can cause. (joint pain & headachse just to mention a couple)
Today, due to change in schedules in our home…workout will be after work instead of this morning. rearranging everything meant that I ate my supper for lunch and I’ll eat my breakfast for supper…because I had access to a kitchen at lunch but won’t have the luxury after workout as I have a meeting. so Supper was to be grilled chicken, asparagus & onions. protien shake & banana for after workout prior to meeting.

My hydration completely relies on having my sigg with me. Got my Sigg – I drink like a mad woman. If I have to rely on a glass, I am chugging at the water cooler what I can and then forgetting to get water most of the day. Trying to play catch up in the evenings only results in getting up in the middle of the night. I am starting to have to “stash” bottles at work, in my gym bag and at the lake…
Dinner today: Morgan is at work until 9. Pre-paleo dinner would have been a bagel or a bag of popcorn. trust me, I know how pathetic that is. Tonight, I am still being lazy, but at least eating on the plan – “cereal” and pickerel….
@Connie – having the same day you are! I ate my dinner for breakfast (tomato sauce with ground beef and broccoli), my lunch for snack, my snack not at all and breakfast for dinner. I don’t what time of the day it is!1!

@Kelly P.
My meals get mixed up weekly… working weird shifts and getting up at 1700HRS, 0400 and 1000HRS I often have “breakfast” at the strangest hours but chowing down on a steak dinner as soon as I get up is a little rough…. The body is amazingly adaptable… Hydration for me is always an issue….I as well, have to keep a bottle with me (water not rum
) otherwise hydration suffers, I did a WOD last week and I was dehydrated starting and I thought my head was going to explode afterwards, it was either dehydration or a minor stroke…..
Tonight I went for rabbit food again, another salad but I added a chicken breast and 3 oz of ham….very tasty and filling…. which always makes me happy..
Stay strong everyone……
E.
Oh….had my fitness evaluation and the program manager was shocked at the difference in body comp, Vo2 max, blood pressure and resting heart rate…….. big changes, thanks everyone for the support…..I am literally the healthiest I have been in 15 Years, and have to empirical data records to show for it!!

Me and a washroom do not separate from each other for long each and everyday so I am going to flat out assume that I’m drinking enough to hydrate a medium sized hippo or at the very least a baby elephant.
On a completely separate topic I would like to thank everyone at CFW for their hard work and dedication to keeping everyone on the right track. I used to go to the gym 3-4 times a week; chest day, shoulders tri’s, back bi’s, legs repeat. I did this for 5 years with very little overall improvement. It’s true that when one person inspires another, who in turn inspires and motivates another, it just snowballs. That’s what crossfit is to me. More than a style or way of exercising, it’s a lifestyle change. It’s a resource for fitness, nutrition, social interaction, a constant source of inspiration from meeting or exceeding your own goals, to seeing others exceed theirs. I have seen more results with crossfit in 3 months then I have in 5 years doing the “norm”. Most days I feel like it would be tough for the energizer bunny to keep up to me. He’d be like, “Slow down dude and that a breather, I need to recharge! And I’d be like, “just 50 more pull ups and 20 burpees to go Rabbit, suck it up!” Seriously I can’t say enough about how my life has changed since attending CFW and making the changes needed in my eating habits. I’m never tired at work anymore and am constantly looking for things to do because I have energy to burn. Thanks Norm for inspiring your Mom, who inspired Mich who is my inspiration. (yeah brownie points but it’s true) Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Being at school 10+ hours a day this week made meals very difficult for me to keep fulfilling yet paleo. Didn’t want to detract from studies too long to cook, but needed to eat healthy to keep myself strong. So what I ended up doing was eating the same thing about 4 times through the day, every 2.5 hours or so. My dinners looked like this:
Monday: Chicken, broccoli, zucchini, spinach stir fried in coconut milk+spices
Tuesday: Pork, broccoli, zucchini, spinach stir fried in coconut oil+spices
Today: Chicken, broccoli, zucchini, spinach stir fried in coconut milk+spices
Linear, but it worked well and kept me going strong.
Dehydration article – The part that stood out to me (big surprise) is the 300-400ml per kg of lean body mass recommendation. I crunched the numbers (I am about 90kg, and my best guess at BF% is about 10) and I am about 81kg lean body mass (based on Google’s description of (body weight – body fat)) which means I need between 24 and 32 LITERS of water a day?! I pass the urine test every time I take a leak but why was this number so high?

Tonight was yet another yummmy steak with some veg.
Water is always a fun issue with me as I always lose my water bottles and go without for long periods. Then I try and catch up in the evening and like Kelly I pay for it by having to get up 20 times a night.
@Eric
Nice to hear about the fitness eval. I have had to do 3 in the last year due to some clerical errors and other silly stuff and everytime I passed with flying colours. Usually destroying kids that should be killing me in all aspects. The video game generation scares me with their overall lack of fitness.

As long as I have a bottle by my side, I drink. If I don’t… then I forget. So at work I’m a star cause I sit at a desk and can drink. It’s hard to remember to drink on the weekends. I’m getting better though.
Dinner was chicken drumsticks and veggies.
@ Steve A – Great Post!

dinner tonight was eggs, bacon and blueberries.
Water isn’t a huge deal, I like it and drink lots and am to the bathroom pretty regularly. Enough said.

Fish & Veggies
I have issues with water, doing the job I do we cannot have a bottle close, so my water intake is bad.
