Sorry guys but this post is all for the ladies.
Ladies, one of the things you may notice while changing to a paleo/real food diet is a change in your menstrual cycle. It may be lighter, longer, irregular, a plethora of changes. I do not know the science behind it but I know it has happened to me as well. And since we are a community and share experiences with one another, I want to open the door as this can be a concerning topic for many.
Below are a few reads to shed some light on the subject.

And it goes without saying, please post dinner to comments.

Last night I made a killer pork dinner. http://stevepaleo.blogspot.com/2009/03/paleo-pork-chops.html
I made it exaclty as the photo and was quite impressed, as i didn’t have a meat malet so I dug my hammer out of my tool box in the basement and gave it to my piece of meat! It was delicious, especially the combo of apples with butternut squash. I drizzled them with coconut oil instead of olive. TASTEY! I also have that for lunch today.

K, I’ll go there I’m not shy…
My eating habits can be stellar for 3 weeks and then the carb cravings hit, no matter what, without fail my willpower is tested for a few days each month. If I plan ahead and have some chocolately snacks and high fat foods ready to go I can usually make it without cheating but if there is sugar-laden food around I seem unable to make a rational decision. On the flip-side if I do succeed in avoiding the sugar, my mood seems to stabilize, whereas I used to get pretty bitchy/mopey.
I also tend to eat a ton for those few days, I’m hungry non-stop and in order to cope I don’t fight it and let myself eat non-stop…as long as it’s real food and mostly green things. Even though I’m not prego my body seems intent on stocking up for the possibility and if it’s a natural part of the hormonal cycle why go against nature
I tend to eat less the week after so I figure it all evens out.
As far as the period itself, I have no idea, I’ve always been all over the place (not on the pill, makes me sick). Perhaps tracking diet and flow together for a while would be a good idea…one more thing to journal, fantastic. I did find myself mostly dictated by my roommate’s cycles (the whole women living together matching up cycles thing). She would change the week of her cycle based on her schedule (eeek! can’t be natural) and I think her hormones pushed mine around. We’ll see if I get more regular now that I live alone (I would prefer the irregularity though, I miss her!)
That’s my story and I agree with Melissa that this should be out in the open, sorry guys!

Thanks for bringing this up M. I struggle the week before, really wanting carbs. Like Kimberly I try to have things on hand that will satisfy but I tend to go more for salty than sweet (except for chocolate which is a given during that time!). I seem to be hungrier during that time as well. As much as I thought I was eating paleo before this challenge, I discovered I wasn’t as paleo as I thought. Since starting this I have really revamped my diet and eat much better. That being said, we are only 6 weeks into this so I can’t really say what effect it is having on my cycle.
Dinner tonight is going to be steak and shrimp, salad and broccoli.

Dinner: fish and a salad.

Honestly… I’ve seen no change. I was hoping it would just go away all together! lol
Dinner was turkey-broccoli slaw concoction. With a couple pieces of ‘paleo’ brownie. I figure it was better than the creme egg I was going for.
Nik and I are in Lynn Lake… will be making all my meals as we have a kitchenette. Interesting little town.

My cravings are sooo much better since being on paleo. Again, any cravings I suffer are completely based on my moods – this week has been a tough one with 10/11 hour work days and an out of place neck – gah
As for the monthly martha – holy moly!!! She is SO MUCH NICER! Less than 2-3 days…it’s like it doesn’t even happen. For someone diagnosed with PCOS, and have been on the pill and metformin etc. for years to get this straightened out with no results – 3 months on Paleo/CF did it – how nuts is that???
If this is my new reality (no more three week periods), I am fully and completely converted.
Dinner: paleo chicken wings(yum)

Interesting topic…only I’m all over the board so can’t really comment. However, I can say that I am also STARVING a few days a month and could eat everything in sight!
Dinner: pork & veggie stirfry

No bloating and I’m not super bitchy, it’s a good day! :O) Chicken breast and carrots for supper. Mmm, Mmm Good!

We went out to eat with friends, I don`t think the waitress appreciated my request but I sure appreciated the food! I ordered a `big mouth burger, no bun, no cheese no fries and a salad, no croutons.` It was delicious, 12oz burger with salad, all is good! Brad had a taco salad, and was super envious of my beautiful beefy dinner.
As far as topic of the day, I would say I am much the same only defineatly eat more for an entire week every month, can`t be good, but I too give in as long as it`s good choices.
