    @BRad
    Good work buddy!

Was nervous for this WOD, kept thinking of FRAN…which is 45 thrusters…this was 75 thrusters…thought the RX’d weight might be too much but I was in the mood to get ‘er done!

Broke the 50 & 40 DUs in halves…Had hard time with the 30′s DUs which was frustrating.

Turned out not bad, fun wod actually.

WODs like this always humble me, thrusters are not one of my strengths as I seem to have no shoulder flexibility and just can’t fall into a good rhythm with them. Was a good grinder for me and my legs trudging through the snow at the dog were screaming at me.

Are there any poor souls going in to do the double pretty much back to back??? Im looking for some company

Ever since I did my first Fran a couple years ago I ‘decided’ that thrusters were my nemisis and was therefore downright scared for this workout. Yesterday I scaled the SDLHP’s as I wanted to keep my power output up, but later regretted the desicion so I Rx’d it today. Time was 11:57. DU’s went well. I screwed up on the very first DU of both the 50 and 40, but other then that all were unbroken. Thrusters were broken to 5s after the 15. Over all I feel really good about the wod as I feel I overcame my fear of thrusters.

On a side note, anyone who saw my ‘magic’ bracelet the other day and wants one, the cheapest place is ebay. Just search for Power Balance.

This was definitely a grinder. Cannot remember my time now. 13:?? I think. Used 30# for the thrusters and still had to break them into sets after the set of 10. DU’s went fairly well. Was managing to get sets of about 10-12.

    March 10th, 2010 at 14:24 | #15

12:45 used 20# DBs for the thrusters, DU were mediocre, I need to make my rope shorter I think, but I’m glad it’s done.

    14:11
Today I was disappointed with the DUs. Used my new rope but discovered fairly quickly it was shorter than I like. DU were all over the place, sometimes 2 sometimes 15 or so.
Thrusters started with 65lbs but dropped to 55lbs for the 20 and 25 rounds. Looking back I wish I had just stuck with the 65lbs and taken longer.
Ah well, there’s always another day :)

    Part 1 9.58
    DU’s mainly UB
Thrusters went into 5′s at the 15s

    Part 2 12.33
Goal was to do sets of 15 but at around 40 it got tough. Broke to sets of 10 and then sets of 5 after 75.

    Oh my achin’ back! SF!

Was itching to do the KBS when I saw the wod posted last night…so went in after work and tackled it alongside B-Mac.

    RX’d 11;15.

Felt good! Did first 20 ub then 15 ub then 10s straight until last 8 and 7 to finish.

    Off to (late!) Ringette game.

  22. March 10th, 2010 at 22:03 | #22

    part 1:
8:52 rx’d…more thrusters please (seriously…we need to do these more!)

    5 hours rest

    part 2:
16:54 rx’d w/ 2 pood…first time with this WOD and what a blast…but holy shit, was not expecting that level of difficulty…the PCQ (pain came quick)…reps were strong, but lower back was not havin’ it today (pretty good cramping)…last 50 were a bit of a battle…grip was an issue, but not too bad…controlled the 2 pood well tonight, just need to swing it more often (I think I’ll include these from time to time in my warm-ups)…

16:34 rx. Double unders were fine for me. Had to break the thrusters to 3′s at 15 and then to 2′s. With the thrusters I wasn’t fluid today as in on the way down, I was stopping at the clean position instead of going straight down.

Wow…what a WOD to come back to ……

I have been trying to keep up at home and at work but nothing compares to the atmosphere at the box…..

I freaking love this place……this environment really brings out the best……

My time sucked today….lower back was screaming and I was a little nervous about the shoulder but I am really happy with the encouragement that I recieved and I believe I finished strong….(thank god I was not working out in the morning as I would have breached the silence condition :) sorry to everyone there that had to endure the grunts and groans)

    IIIIII’M BAAAAACCCCKKK!!!

    E.

PROPS to all those who swung that big fat bald bastard…..

Eric was all that grunting and groaning really necessary?? I was trying to read a magazine on the couch and you were really distracting me….. :)

    Part 1: 11:21 as Rx’d.

Thrusters were harder than expected probalby because not have done them in so long.

Did not attempt part 2, no way my back would handle that many swings

    Part 1
    10:25
Coulda shaved sometime had I not messed up du’s so much, thrusters felt strong for fast sets of 5 at the end

    Rested only one hour

    Part 2
    15:26
Felt like I had nothing at all, nothing hurt specifically but everything was failing including my mind!!
