Upcoming Competitions
One of the special things about CrossFit is the community aspect! This is especially evident at events and competitions where various CrossFit affiliates come together. Recently we had the Central Canada Games Sectionals, where athletes had the opportunity to compete against other CrossFitters for a spot at the upcoming Canadian Regionals. Here are some of the competitions coming up. We encourage you to consider the next logical step in your training: competition! The CrossFit Regina Spring Challenge is a great opportunity for you to compete in one of 3 levels, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, so everyone is encouraged to consider a road trip to Regina on the long weekend.
Affiliate Cup at the CrossFit Games Regional Qualifier
Congratulations to our Affiliate Cup Team, which will be going out to Okotoks/Calgary at the end of the month for the CrossFit Games Regional Qualifier Affiliate Cup Competition. Representing CrossFit Winnipeg will be Nat G., Kristin F., Tania, Brad S., Brennan M. and Eric L. Congratulations also to Melisa who will be competing in the individual competition on the same weekend! May 28 to 30 in Calgary, Alberta.
CrossFit Regina will be hosting a Spring Challenge to offer this opportunity to anyone who wants to participate at a local (and less intimidating) level. There will be 3 workouts throughout the day, all modified to 3 levels (Advanced, Intermediate, Beginner), so anyone can compete.

ONE HUNDRED BURPEES!!!!????? Caaaahmon!!!!!
I think the programmer of this wod should be penalized with 50 extra burpees…

A little competition would be super fun, ditto with a roadtrip, even if it is just to Regina.

To borrow a phrase from Kim – Holy Moly! That was a tough one. 22:32 16″ box, started off with the blue band and then felt the shoulder start to ache so finished with one of the green bands.

This one was slow and steady. I never thought I would look forward to pull ups as a type of break

I’m looking forward to this today, however, I didn’t add up the totals like Nic did… 100 burpees does sound daunting!
A little sad I can’t be at either Regionals or the Regina competition, you guys will have a blast. I’ll actually be in Regina, but playing Ultimate intead. Maybe if there is a break, I’ll try to come see some of the action.

By the way, just super stoked to report a couple benchmark performances I’ve done in the past couple days:
4:30AM yesterday, “Jackie”, 6:34 (about 3:00 PR over 2 years ago)
6:45AM yesterday, finally figured out how to breathe when swimming freestyle and swam 100m straight nice and relaxed… big milestone
2:30PM today… out at the cabin with T & Ollie. Went to the playground and did Cindy… 26 rounds + 15 reps… that’s a 4 round + 9 rep PR over May 14 last year… nevermind the playground vs. gym pros/cons…

P.S. Tomorrow is “active rest” for me… maybe Ollie and I will chip away at the 50 burpee penalty
