CrossFit is not just an activity I do, it has been a fantastic lifestyle change for me and I can’t see ever going back. The comments I’ve been getting backup the fact that CrossFit Winnipeg works… The coaching staff at CrossFit Winnipeg are fantastic, fun, and have your best interests at heart… Be prepared to have more fun than you’ve ever had going to a"

Just a word of caution/a reminder….
Remember that the three major programs we run right now are
Tue-Thu + Sat/Sun
Mon-Wed + Fri/Sat
Mon + Wed + Fri
I would offer a word of strong caution to anyone training Wed, Thu + Fri. These days are generally not meant to work together. Sorry for any inconveniences… if it can’t happen any other way, listen to your body and maybe consider some substitute movements with the coach.

As of Saturday, that’s it for me…I’m outta here! Still here for a couple of days but I wanted to post this now since I won’t see many of you before I leave…
@Tania
thanks for all the support (and employment…and for being so accommodating in my last year of school). I learnt alot working for you and whenever I’m in the peg’, I’ll definitely pop in for a visit and, ideally, a WOD. We’ll chat before I go, so I can tell you how a great a boss you are in person.
@ all of Crossfit Winnipeg’s athletes and coaches…
Just a quick thanks for everything over the last year. I had a great time coaching and working with you guys and watching you all grow as crossfit athletes. I hope I was able to help out at least a little. Keep slaying WODs and supporting eachother as you all move towards your fitness goals. CFW is a great community and I’m proud I could be a (small) part of it. Take care and remember, “no fear when you face the iron” (explicit original…copyrighted. sorry! ha!). B-mac and Dewy can have all the others (“I lift like I…”, “I don’t watch sports, I just show up and…”).
Since I couldn’t possibly convey in words just how much I’m gonna miss all you maniacs, I’ll let Phil Collins do it…

@stephen
General consensus is that you are an animal. I knew every time i walked through those doors for a WOD it was going to be on. You have an uncanny way of getting so much more out of people to get them to meet their limits and then go way beyond. Dude..you were there for my first muscle up, 48″ BJ, 7:40 2K row. And remember when my shoe came untied? And you tied it up for me? Now that is solid. But how about if i stop talking about myself and you start talking about me now!
Take care you brute. Attack everything like you do at CFW and things will be swell for you.
All the best! C-dog

@stephen
Sorry to have missed the “Explicit” WOD but I am sure it will become a regular part of our programming. I will second Chris’ comments. You have pushed me beyond what I thought I could do and it was great to discover that I could actually do it. I wish you all the best.
@brendan
With regards to the scheduling. Right now I am following Mon-Wed, Fri, Sat. but in a couple of weeks due to a commitment on Wednesday mornings, I will be back to Mon, Tues, Thurs – Sat. Is that going to work?

@stephen
You’ve been such an integral part of our community and I can’t really imagine what we will do without you or what we ever did before you came along. I don’t know anyone else who has such a knack for helping people find that 5th gear. The best part is that it doesn’t matter if it’s a firebreather or a mom, you still manage to connect. This is a very special thing and it makes you a great coach. No need to say anything in person; you will be missed but I know you will have a great time out there. I’m just really sad that I no longer have a workout partner for Nasty Girls – wait that doesn’t sound right… you know what I mean. You will always be welcome at CFW.

Hey folks,
I need a hand writing the cover letter for my resume to the winnipeg paramedic service… does anyone have any suggestions for me?
Thanks!
September 3, 2010 at 1:53 pm
@brendan
I may have a few…I’m doing 5 things at once right now but I’ll write a few quick tips for now…first and foremost do not start with “Thank you for taking the time…blah blah blah” or “I am applying for…blah blah blah”…it needs to be interesting and catch their eye-an anecdote or a quote can work. Also, you need to convey how they will benefit from having you as a paramedic not why you would like to be a paramedic(you can include a story about why you want to be a paramedic as long as it relates back to why it will benefit them). Not sure if this makes sense or not as I just rambled a bit…hope it helps a little though!
Also-I have no doubt that you will be an excellent paramedic!

@brendan
As an HR Consultant I read a lot of cover letters, too long & chances are it won’t be read. So, be clear and concise, keep it to 3 paragraphs or less (1/2 page)& be confident without being cocky. Specify why you are the best person for this position using specific examples, stay away from generalized statements… all the other applicants used them too.
Hope this helps, good luck.
