On Ramp Session #43 starts Tuesday, September 6th: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00AM to 7:00AM for 6 weeks. Our basic On Ramp program is designed for the generally active, injury free individual who wants ultimately to train in one of our ongoing group classes. This 12-hour small group program is an “on-ramp” to the “highway” that is CrossFit. In this class we will expose new members to our movement curriculum in a group format. Classes are limited to 6 athletes per coach. We will emphasize movement techniques, along with a progressive introduction to the intensity levels that are inherent in our group classes. If you are unsure as to whether you are a good candidate for beginning in a class setting, please contact us.

CFW Team workout!
This time we are having our holiday team workout at 3pm, in case some of you are leaving town overnight for the long weekend and want to come back for a workout later on Monday.
Sunday, July 31st, the gym will be closed. We are back at it on Monday at 3pm for a team workout.
Mike and Jodi have offered up their BBQ for Sunday, July 24th. The plan is a Team Workout (Hooverball or football or volleyball) followed by a BYOM (bring your own meat) BBQ.
The plan is to meet at 10AM at the sand volleyball courts in Assiniboine Park. The courts are at the corner of Commissary Rd and Assiniboine Park Drive. Click here for the map.
Please feel free to bring friends and family, even the kids.
Bring a cooler with food and drinks.
Want to compete? Check out the Bridge City BeatDown. For those who wish to compete, we will be posting a training schedule and tips to prepare you for the event as we get closer to competition time. This might include some programming for double days as well as self assessment tools for those who want to find their strengths and weaknesses.

There will be a few changes to the schedule starting July 17th going into August. Don’t worry these are just summer hours and we’ll be back full force with even more classes in the fall.
- Sunday morning team workouts at 10am will replace the regularly scheduled classes on Sunday.
- Sunday afternoon Gymnastics is cancelled for July, and will most likely be back on Sunday evenings in August or September.
- 8AM classes are cancelled from Monday to Friday.
- Saturday afternoon 1pm and 2pm classes are cancelled.
- Saturday Specialty Oly and Mobility Classes are cancelled.
Want to win some CFW gear?
We are revamping our website and ordering some new t-shirts and tank tops. That means we are on the lookout for new slogans and/or a tagline to represent our brand.
Taglines: This is the kind of thing that will show up on our website , business cards and pamphlets. Something short that represents what we stand for. It is associated with our club and generally stays with us wherever we go. Examples: CrossFit.com “Forging Elite Fitness”, Nike “Just Do It”,
Slogans: A slogan is a bit different. The word slogan comes from a Scottish word meaning “battle cry.” Your slogan goes with the battle we are waging right now. Slogans could appear on our apparel or be associated with events we host. Example: FrostFit Games “The Cold Won’t Numb the Pain”.
Please post submissions to comments and if we use your idea, you’ll win some CFW goodies.

Harvey is coaching this Sunday, and don’t quote me on this, but I think he has a team weightlifting competition in the works…
On Friday July 1st 2011 CrossFit Winnipeg will be closed with the exception of a team workout at 9am. Come join fellow crossfitters for a Canada Day Team WOD!!
